Organization Description:
The Global Leadership Initiative for Education, Health and Social Development (GLIEHSD) is a reputable high impacts social development, humanitarian / emergency, nongovernmental organization incorporated on 29th January, 2020 with registration number CAC/IT/143252 with aims of ameliorating the human sufferings and community needs.

1. GLIEHSD Mission" To be an hallmark of high-impact and solutions driven entity in promoting and uplifting the global standards of living through efficient partnerships and collaboration efforts around championing the sustainable development goals target and beyond".
Our FOCUS are on:
Inclusive Education, Quality Healthcare delivery, Environment & Climate Change, Economic Inclusivity , Gender Equality & Child Right Protection

2.GLIEHSD is interested in tuberculosis to be part of history in combating for the total elimination of TB and it's stigma that is one of the major public health problems in Nigeria.

3. Through a strategic awareness and sensitization campaign programs and conducting of training for communities youth leaders who will be (TB Champions) in their various communities; Caring for TB patients through provision of counseling , food and drugs etc

1. Through organizing of different seminars on threat to life that TB posed.
2. Provision food and subsidizing drugs to TB patients in primary health centres of Akwa Ibom and Kaduna state with a very limited resources.
3. Awareness and sensitization campaigns on TB for early test , screening and treatment etc

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
The GLIEHSD have carried awareness campaign and draft resolution to the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly committee Chairman on Health in 2022, for proactive intervention for patients of TB for free medical treatment.

Drug-Resistant TB:
We are working in areas of Drug resistance to see how that can be harmonise with our primary health centres

TB-HIV:
We have carried out useful workshop engagement with HIV/TB patients in Redlight District of Garki, Abuja 2023 where the impacts has been awesome.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We are going to work with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for promotion of durable and standard laboratory test

New Diagnostics:
According to our recent survey, there has been a sharp increase on the infected peoples among which are mostly pregnancy women, and youth between the ages of 19-32

New TB Drugs:
We have actually have a good number of patients that are in need of the drugs but with limited access to get the TB drugs , in which the new drugs will be of immense value to the target numbers of the patients without access to drugs.

New TB Vaccines:
GLIEHSD is willing to work on areas of new vaccines to combat the dreaded TB infection and HIV that is ravaging Nigerians into early grave each day.

Fundamental Research:
More effort will be put into research the following year 2024

Research:
The GLIEHSD research unit would work to intensify efforts in advancing scientifically modified drugs for the treatment of TB in this part of the world
