Organization Description:
Youth Advocates Mission
To empower all adolescents and young people with knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities for healthy, productive, fulfilling lives.

Work Focus
Over nearly a decade of YA’s existence, the organization has developed a distinct implementation model that allows it to work at the policy, programming, and operational levels. Youth Advocates empower young people and communities in poverty, illiteracy, disease and social injustice.

TB presents itself as a significant concern within the communities we serve, particularly among those facing poverty, illiteracy, and social injustices. This disease disproportionally affects various demographics, including young individuals, aligning closely with our commitment to their well-being and empowerment.

Our strategy involves multifaceted approaches to raise awareness among young people about TB prevention, symptoms, and treatment. We plan to empower young people to actively advocate for policies that enhance access to healthcare services, especially for marginalized communities facing socioeconomic challenges.

Collaboration is at the core of our approach. We work closely with local health authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to design and implement targeted TB control programs. These programs are specifically tailored to engage adolescents and young people, integrating education, advocacy, and community involvement.

Our ultimate goal is not just TB control but the holistic empowerment of young individuals to lead healthier lives. By addressing TB within the context of our mission, we aim to create sustainable change, offering young people the tools and support they need to thrive despite the challenges posed by this disease.
