Organization Description:
We are a passionate team driven by purpose and deeply committed to our mission.The overarching goal of Bantra St. Thomas Home Welfare Society (BSTHWS) is, that nobody in its catchment area dies of tuberculosis (TB). no person must live with
irreversible organ damage after an episode of TB. TB patients must be identified early in the course of the disease, before lungs so much damaged, that for the rest of their life. no family falls into poverty because a bread earning member has fallen sick with tuberculosis and cannot work, be it temporarily or permanently.no person is discriminated against because he or she has tuberculosis. Early identification, medical treatment with provision of 24 hours hospital service for women and providing medical care through DOT centers, immunization to children, general health check-up, implementing govt. schemes, providing nutritional foods, strong networking of Public Private Mixed, running Designated Microscopic center, providing ANM nursing training.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
Poor of the poorest TB patients are provided treatment with tender care. Even their siblings are taken care off and helped in empowering and self sustainable.

Drug-Resistant TB:
MDR and SDR patients are provided treatment with regular monitoring.

TB-HIV:
HIV TB patients are taken care of with especial provisions. Meticulously their HIV medications are monitored. They are supported and refer for residential treatment under regular guidance.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We have Designated Microscopic center along with X-ray provision. For extra pulmonary TB cases we provide financial support for lab test from outside and provide treatment free of costs.

New Diagnostics:
Under the guidance and regular networking of STO, STS and DTO all latest diagnostic treament are followed.

New TB Drugs:
Regula basis interaction and communication are continued with the STO,STS and DTO. These government officials are regularly having seminar and meetings with our TB staff and up-date about the new TB drugs and application proses. On the other hand we are sharing with local MBBS and medical practitioners throur our PPM project on regular basis.

New TB Vaccines:
We try to follow the new TB vaccines particularly immunization programme to children.

Fundamental Research:
We are collaborately done fundamental research with MAAS, Pune.
