We are currently operating a government-funded public health program to increase TB early detection in 11 municipalities of the department of Cauca in Colombia, with a population base of +400.000 inhabitants. This program has received technical support from PAHO and Dr Jose A. Caminero for training physicians, nurses and other health care professionals and providers. The program has increased early detection rate in about 60% and has strengthened the strategies, actions and impact of the Secretary of Health of Cauca. |
