Organization Description: |
One Health Conservation Initiative is an organization dedicated to the conservation through the One Health concept. Our aim is to achieve project of health link to this concept that can have an influence in the conservation aspects of the area of influence.
We interested in tuberculosis because this is a big issues in the human population where we work and because is a major concern for the conservation of Great Apes and other species (as antilopes and wild pigs)of wild species in the area. Also the status of Tuberculosis in the cows in the area is unknown, meanwhile it can a be a source of infection for humans (that after can infect Great Apes) and for wild animals in the protected areas where they arrive.
We run already a One Health tuberculosis project called TTHALESS which look for TB in wild and domestic animals and humans integrating new diagnostic tools and a new approach. |

We do out current research project in coordination with the National Tuberculosis program in Democratic Republic of Congo (PNLT) and we collaborate with the diagnose of tuberculosis in our health area integrating the results in the result of PNLT. |
