Tanzania Youth With New Hope In Life Organization (TAYONEHO) is a youth-led Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which was founded in 2010 and later become legally registered on 13th March 2013 under Non-Governmental Organization Act No.24 of 2002 through the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups in Tanzania.
We have a mandate to operate everywhere in Tanzania.
The organization head offices are based in Kagera region - Lake zone part of Tanzania.
TAYONEHO seeks to advance the public health and healthcare interest of people of Tanzania through collaboration with Government of Tanzania, CSOs, Non-Governmental institutions and private sector.
TAYONEHO is largely supported by Multilateral, Bilateral and National donors implementing several programmes including TB/HIV/AIDS, Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Education and Clinical Outreach.
TAYONEHO's projects respond to national health priorities and sustainable development goals (SDGs) in addressing the needs of needy communities.
We work to increase the effectiveness, effeciency and sustainability of health services by strengthening health systems, improving access to services, advocating stronger community health systems and influencing health policies.
TAYONEHO works with the Government and development partners in 7 Lake zone regions of Tanzania.
We have made a great difference in remote and hard to reach communities where our services have continued to narrow the gap of abject poverty.

1. Directly involved in the detecting, treatment and patient support during course of treatment.
2. Community education and awareness activities.
3. TB/HIV collaborative activities including;-
- HIV counselling and testing services.
- Provision of ARV treatment to TB patients co-infected with HIV.
- Provision of cotrimoxazole preventive therapy to TB patients who are co-infected with HIV.
- Nutritional support to TB and TB/HIV patients.
- Home based care services to patients sick at home.

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below: |
TB Care Delivery: - To promote effective communication, community empowerment, and participation to generate demand for and improved quality of TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care services.
- Working with other health facilities in the region to conduct community education, sensitization and TB Screening programs, especially among miners populations which are known to be focal points for TB.
- TAYONEHO's participation in all advocacy activities, including during World TB Day commemorations the community is educated and emphasized on the importance of DOTS.
- Working with an officially formed and registered group of TB patients in the districts.
- Empowerment of communities to take appropiate actions to address community TB burden.
- Reducing congestion in health care facilities, thus reducing the workload of facilty-based health care workers and raising the quality of interaction between health care workers and patients.
Drug-Resistant TB: - Early detection and high quality treatment of drug-susceptible TB.
- Early detection and high quality treatment of drug-resistant TB.
- Effective implementation of infection control measures.
-Strengthening of health systems.
- Addressing underlying risk factors and social determinants.
TB-HIV: - Establish and strengthen the mechanisms for delivering integrated TB and HIV services.
- Reduce the burden of TB among people living with HIV and initiate early antirectoviral therapy.
- Reduce the burden of HIV in patients with presumptive and diagnosed TB.
Laboratory Strengthening: - Quarterly supportive supervision on improving the quality of laboratory services.
- To strengthening and train super medical laboratory technicians who will work to examine body fluids and sputum from TB/HIV patients.
