Organization Description: |
Started in 2003, Literacy Action and Development Agency (LADA) is a grassroots/indigenous NGO that operates countrywide, rooted on the philosophy; “Building Strong Children, Families and Communities”. Its strategic focus is on Child Survival and Development, enterprise development, value addition, HIV/AIDS, Human Rights Awareness and Advocacy, Water and Sanitation, Clean Energy, water Governance and Water Shed/Catchment Conservation.
LADA is managed by a nine (9) member Board of Directors, which appoints the Executive Director. The Board plays the advisory role on policy and strategy, approves financial statements and runs affairs of the organization on behalf of the Foundation Body. Reaching out to over 102,340 people directly and over 345,000 indirectly. Activities of LADA are concentrated in South Western Uganda District; Rukungiri, Kanungu, Kabale, Kisoro, Kikuube, Mityana, Wakiso, Mpigi, Hoima, Kabarole, Iganga, Namutumba, Busembatia, Rubanda, Rukiiga, Sheema, Mitooma, Rubirizi, Kamwenge and Kasese in Eastern Africa. Beneficiaries to the organization are mainly Women, children, schools, Indigenous Peoples Communities, Farmer Groups, and Youth Groups.

Goal: To empower and support the disadvantaged and at risk members of the Community in Uganda to access support, quality health, education, sanitation and Hygiene, improved incomes and human rights awareness creation and protection.
LADA is interested in becoming a member to enhance collaboration, networking, and resource mobilization for TB prevention, treatment and advocacy.
LADA works with Key Populations and Priority Populations in western Ugnada in HIV/TB control (awareness creation, Care and support and Advocacy)

LADA has been implementing Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY) in 5 districts in South Western Uganda, and also Distributes Micro-Nutrients for Pregnant Mothers and Children under 5.
KP/PP and OVC Clients/households have accessed TB services from LADA from; prevention, screening, case identification, treatment and other linkages. |

TB Care Delivery: LADA works with other partners in the sub region to create demand for TB services, and also ensuring TB Drugs and services are available in respective Facilities/centres.
TB-HIV: LADA works with TB/HIV clients to access quality services, treatment and drugs and follow ups to service centres, collection of sputum |
