Organization Description:
Research Triangle Consortium(RTC)-Uganda mission is to support socio economic communities and a vision of creating healthy productive communities and environment.
Research Triangle Consortium conducts research ,baseline studies and surveys in socio economic communities and designs interventions which can solve community problems. the organizations holds medical camps which helps communities which cannot afford medical bills through systemic approaches.
The organization is interested in TB because its a communicable disease which can easily be spread in communities affecting majority of people leading to wastage of resource hence RTC-Uganda is interested in preventive medicine rather than curative medicine.
The organization is planning to increase clients adherence to TB drugs to diagnosed clients through increased follow-up and community contact tracing for TB care clients and HIV/AIDs clients with low viral load.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
The organization have been participating in capacity building in communities to control the spread of TB disease. with those efforts, the organization hopes to strengthen the national TB guidelines across all the health facilities in the district to guide health workers how to administer rifampicin drug to TB newly diagnosed clients, treatment of TB and increasing lost to follow-up clients to adhere to their medications and treatment regiment according to WHO guidelines. The organization hopes told public campaigns, sensitization meetings with leaders and advocacies to control further spread of TB.

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
Research Triangle Consortium-Uganda has been holding mass media communication educating communities with co-morbidities to ensure that their health and well- beings are maintained and free from and infection during Covid-19 pandemic from 10 august 2020 in Kapchorwa, Kween and Bukwo district up to date. The organization ensures the contact tracing to lost follow- up clients to adhere to there medication and also follow up to the health facility to ensure that the patients received their drugs in a timely manner to prevent drug resistance against MTB. The organization manager to ensure sensitization in public forum and community gatherings and funeral areas encouraging communities on importance of TB prevention especially During Covid-19 period, more emphasis was put during the pandemic to prevent the most vulnerable in the community. The organization is planning to engage on baseline survey to ascertain the causes of lost to follow- up among TB clients and contact tracing to prevent the population from TB infection and encouraging district authorities to extend TB clinic days to rural areas to prevent lost to follow-up as a result of long distance the clients are travelling to access their drugs so as to increase adherence to medication.

Laboratory Strengthening:
Research Triangle Consortium-Uganda 0n 15th 0f march 2021 encourage the districts to increased laboratory strengthening of TB testing services through increasing the number of testing HUB by increasing the number of gene-expert machines which can run more TB samples from low facility to ensure that clients obtained their result and also increasing the testing services of TB. The organization strengthened and encourage the HUB riders to ensure timely delivery of results from other facilities and prisons to ensure contact tracing to prevent TB infections from spreading within the prisoners and community people.
