Organization Description: |
Volunteer Health services is nonprofit organization initiated by former DR-TB patients and health professionals; It is a network of more than 16,000 volunteer’s treatment support and volunteer team that can offer a place to explore the emotional and practical issues of living with infectious diseases specifically patients who need comprehensive treatment and care in a safe and nurturing environment. We are all-inclusive, non-partisan group working to increase participation in local healthcare system, to inspire individuals in our community to become Identified, informed, Empowered and Involved through a nationwide network of patients, volunteers and relevant stakeholders. We are motivated by our belief that medical issues affect residents' lives in a multitude of ways and that the contributions of volunteers are necessary for a strong community and a vibrant and prosperous nation. But many concerned by the lack of framework or platform to engage communities in local TB/HIV healthcare. Our working group has proposed a strategy address the needs of our key affected population groups including elders, IDPs, Prisoners, miners and others. Our preliminary plans include a series of volunteer programs and platform developments. With this framework we will endeavor to engage patients, Parliamentarians, Ambassadors, celebrity and community for community awareness creation, care and support. It is our goal that all KAP will identified, informed, empowered and engaged in order to bring about positive change in our nation.

Our grassroots level TB patient support experience gave us a chance to work with local district, patient families and TB key affected population. we are a group of 15,000 volunteer members of TB survivors, patients, patients’ families, professionals and others, who came together to talk about challenge, experience and/or role that they have in common without being judged, blamed, stigmatized or isolated. By joining support groups, people realize that they are not alone in their situation. VHS group is a forum in which members can share problems and concerns, brainstorm solutions, give each other advice and form friendships. Our support groups are effective because members receive firsthand advice and the approaches that they learn come from peers who are coping with very similar circumstances. This means that TB clubs are not theoretical, but practical, personal and relevant. |

Research: We assess: - It is an assessment to identify, collect, analyze and present information so that the health of the TB community can be understood and improved, and to provide evidence to inform health service planning. It provides baseline information about the health status of TB community residents, tracks TB control outcomes over time, and helps to identify opportunities for TB prevention, treatment and control. |
