Organization Description: |
Terma Foundation is a non-profit health initiative dedicated to improving the survival of the children of Tibet Autonomous Region of the PRC. Tuberculosis—including cases of culture-proven MDR and XDR-- are escalating in Tibet, far outstripping the capabilities of the local health care systems. The Terma Foundation completed a five-year pilot program in Chamdo Prefecture to provide training and supplies needed to support a successful TB eradication program. In 2005, Terma opened two TB sanatoriums in Lhasa. |
