Organization Description:
The mission and focus of this organization is to build local capacity for the prevention and control of tuberculosis in southeast Nigeria. We are interested in tuberculosis because of the burden of the disease in Nigeria. Our efforts towards tb control aims at improving case detection and correcting the erroneous beliefs the local population has on the cause and spread of tb; that tb is not caused by the gods or witchcraft as commonly believed in southeast Nigeria and thus encouraging the local population to seek proper treatment in hospitals rather than traditional healthcare providers when tb symptoms are suspected
