Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
World TB Day, on March 24th each year, commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the causative agent of tuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is a day on which the eyes of the public are focused on TB, and ECDC engages in activities aimed to increase the awareness around TB. Each year we have a different theme for our concerted activities and these are produced in the format of a TB Spotlight. Vallalar Educational Trust has been involved in DOTS services for the 100 families it has been working with and creating an enabling environment.

Drug-Resistant TB:
The VET NGO team also had the innovative idea of printing TB messages and information on pharmacist bags to promote TB knowledge and to raise awareness about TB amongst the general population.VETNGO printed and distributed 10000 bags to pharmacis throuht the district.
