Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region work hard to reach all people and communities in need with affordable TB medicines and diagnostics


21-22 November 2018 l Minsk, Belarus - Twenty countries from Eastern Europe and Central Asia signed the "Minsk Statement of the Ministries of Health of Eastern Europe and Central Asia Countries on Expanding Access to Affordable and Quality Assured Medicines and Diagnostic Technologies."

Over 100 participants in this Second EECA Regional Consultation strategized to ensure timely access to affordable and quality assured, safe and effective medicines and diagnostics for the TB/HIV/Viral hepatitis.

By opening the two-day meeting, organized with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Stop TB Partnership alongside the Global Fund, UNAIDS, and WHO, the Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko confirmed his country’s commitment to ensuring access to quality care for all people in need.

In addition to a highly attended regional meeting, the Stop TB Partnership’s Executive Director Dr Lucica Ditiu and the Minister of Health of Belarus Valery Malashko signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will strengthen the cooperation between the two sides on multiple levels.
