Next Moonshot to End TB

Fifty years ago, humans made the impossible, possible- we put a person on the moon. It took less than a decade. Today we face a different challenge – tuberculosis (TB), the world’s deadliest infectious disease killer. At the margins of the UN General Assemby, the 2019 edition of TB Innovation Summit brought together a unique mix of partners to explore the next big idea and innovation in TB and global health.

The Stop TB Partnership, PATH, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Johnson & Johnson, Fullerton Health Foundation and the World Economic Forum convened the second TB Innovation Summit (“Summit”), on the eve of the  United Nations High Level Meeting (UNHLM) on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), to explore and build the next big idea and innovation in TB and global health. The Summit served as a timely reminder of how TB is a major threat to global health security and economic stability
