Brazil making great progress in TB control

14 February 2006
A recent visit by members of the Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board to Brazil witnessed the great progress being made in TB control in the country. The Minister and Vice Minister of Health expressed their full support in the development of a 10-year plan in line with the recently launched Global Plan to Stop TB 2006-2015, and plan to further collaborate with the private sector, NGOs, communities affected by TB, academia and other enthusiastic parties in the fight against TB. Additionally, Stop TB partners within the country are similarly committed, particularly in the area of social mobilization in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
