Direct Procurement of Anti-TB Drugs
The Global TB Drug Facility is pleased to announce the launch of its Direct Procurement Service, which will enable eligible purchasers to benefit from the low prices secured by the GDF for first-line TB drugs.
The mechanism has been conceived as an important tool to enable countries and organizations committed to DOTS to use their own resources to procure quality TB drugs, through a reliable procurement agent, at prices that will result in considerable savings, thereby freeing up resources for other aspects of DOTS expansion.
A list [Download pdf file (49kb)] of eligible purchasers has already been created based on demonstrated commitment to TB control through the DOTS strategy. For those programs/organizations who are not prequalified but wish to become eligible buyers, an "Approval to Buy" process has been established.
